Amelia will be having sugery on Thursday to have the mass removed. Doctor Harrison believes he knows what caused the mass, and it is a vascular issue. Bascially, her vein is not allowing blood to flow, and therefore it is pooling and causing the mass. Once removed, the mass will be sent off to pathology to make sure it's nothing serious. They will then most likely put a stint in her vein. He told me the exact diagnosis, and at this point, I can't remember the GIANT word he used...I think that is a God thing, because although the interenet is a great tool, for me, doing research on something like this may very will spark a LOT of concern with me.
We are nervous, scared and anxious. Amelia will undergo the surgery and be able to come home the same day...but, as with all surgeries, there is always the risk of complications...or finding something they did not expect. We are hopeful, and Amelia has been covered in prayer. She is not in pain. In fact, she's as wild as ever. We know that will change on Thursday as she will be in pain.
She is starting to ask a lot of questions about the surgery, and she is a little scared. It's the unknown. Bless her innocent heart...she asked me yesterday if the doctor would see the Skittles she ate. (The mass is a little lumpy, and it does look like there may be some Skittlea in there!)
We appreciate everyone praying with us and for us. We hope this is a quick road to travel and that we get good news on the otherside. Pray for health too, they can not do surgery if she has any kind of immune deficiancy, and currently, Elijah has sniffles. We ask for peace, peace that we are doing the right thing. Wisdom for the doctors, and peace that we fully trust their diagnosis. Bind fear. Bind fear for Amelia, and me...it's amazing what one person "suggests" can become an ever present nagging fear. It's my understanding that we are dealing with some of the best doctors in the country, because of that, we choose to accept this is what has to be done. Contine praying...please.

They are the best, Becky. All of them....doctors AND nurses. I have nothing but the highest praises for all the staff there. I will be praying for all of you. Please let me know how things are going, and if there's anything that I can do to help. Isaiah askes about Elijah pretty often....we'd love to have him over to play if that would help.
